Credo siano passati
due anni circa da quando ho “conosciuto “ OpenQuest, poco meno da
quando ho cominciato a tradurlo. Inizialmente non avevo minimamente
considerato di diffondere una mia traduzione in rete, mi interessava
soltanto rendere il gioco più comprensibile per gli amici che –
immancabilmente – avrei costretto a giocare con me.
La versione francese
di OpenQuest mi ha fatto riconsiderare la cosa.
Premetto che di
francese non capisco nulla(a
parte omelette du
fromage,
ma questa è un'altra storia);mi
colpì positivamente vedere che qualcuno aveva avuto la costanza non
solo di tradurre il tutto, ma pure di impaginarlo in maniera
dignitosa (migliore dell'originale, diciamolo).
Fu
quello il momento in cui, con 10 capitoli su 12 già tradotti (benché
ancora
pieni di imperfezioni),
cominciai a rompere le scatole ad alcuni amici perché mi aiutassero
nel progetto: chiesi al mio vecchio amico Luca
una
mano per dare al testo una forma “meno
meccanica”
(l'avevo tradotto senza
troppa
cura
per
la
forma,
a volte anche con pause di mesi tra un pezzo e l'altro, il risultato
in
certi
punti sembrava
opera
di
Google Translator); Davide
e Olga
mi
hanno poi
aiutato a rivedere ulteriormente il testo, per renderlo
più scorrevole
e comprensibile
per
tutti.
Elena
e Attilio
hanno cercato di aiutarmi col salto di qualità finale, occupandosi
rispettivamente di impaginazione e disegni, ma purtroppo a causa
degli impegni di ognuno il grande passo non è mai stato compiuto.
Dopo
un anno che avevo annunciato sul forum di gdritalia
il lavoro che stavamo facendo, visto il nostro stato di “fermo”,
ho preso una decisione: condividere i contenuti della Basic
Edition
di OpenQuest subito, in rete, per tutti. Ed
è quello che mi appresto
a fare.
Con
una certa
calma, tipica di chi vuole fare
le cose per
bene,
pubblicherò
i sette capitoli qui sul blog. Questi saranno
accessibili dalla barra
di navigazione in testata, alla voce OpenQuest.La mia
traduzione
è basata sul materiale

stampabile (anche se fossi in voi aspetterei
un bel pdf impaginato... un giorno
arriverà!),
l'unica cosa che mi preme
è che non spacciate il lavoro
per
vostro.
C'è della fatica dietro.

(1) l'italiano è una lingua molto più ricca
dell'inglese (2) mi sono permesso
di modificare
punti in cui l'esposizione era
